January 2021

“Never love anyone who treats you like you are ordinary” Oscar Wilde.

Since the beginning of the current pandemic, our leaders have promised us an end to this mayhem via an effective vaccine. In the middle of November 2020, Pfizer and Moderna received FDA approval for emergency use of their respective vaccines. The Pfizer vaccine is administered in (2) separate doses 21 days apart and has been found to have a 91% efficacy. The Moderna vaccine is also administered in (2) separate doses 28 days apart and has a 94% efficacy.
Both of these vaccines are lipid nanoparticle- formulated nucleoside – modified mRNA vaccines encoding the perfusion spike glycoprotein of SARS- COV2 the virus that causes COVID-19. At this time the CDC and FDA have not established whether a booster dose of the vaccine will be needed.
I personally am scheduled to take the vaccine next week, and would encourage everyone to take the vaccine when it becomes available.

If you have any questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine call our office at 440-842-2171.

Sincerely,
Michael W. Dagostino DDS
