November 2022

“Tell one, and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.” Benjamin Franklin.

Having practiced for 30x years, I have experienced many changes in the dental industry. Insurance paid $1000.00 a year in 1984, and still pays $1000.00 a year in 2022. Dentistry was reasonably affordable in 1984, but because of increases in the cost of materials, supplies, and staffing, it is becoming cost prohibitive. I have attempted to keep my fees low and have absorbed the increased costs with a little change in my fee schedule.
At the beginning of 2022 my credit card processing company increased their fee from 1.75% to 4.5%. This has caused a huge increase in my processing fee. It is for that reason that we will be charging a 3.95% fee for any credit card transactions after Nov. 20, 2022. We regret this but it is fiscally necessary. We welcome patients to pay us with a check, and ACH debit or cash with no processing fee. It is easy to use a bank card, check or cash and will not incur a fee with those forms of payment.

Sincerely,
Michael W. Dagostino, DDS.
