Cervical dystonia

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts” ~ Winston Churchill

Recently I presented to a group of over 100 doctors from all over the world. A prominent doctor from England, Andre Hedger presented an interesting lecture on cervical dystonia. This is a rare neurologic disorder also known as spasmodic torticollis which is characterized by involuntary muscle contractions in the neck that cause abnormal movements and postures of the neck and head. In some cases these abnormal contractions may be sustained or continuous, in others they may be present as spasms that can resemble tremor. Dr. Hedger demonstrated multiple cases of cervical dystonia that he was treating as the etiology being Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD).
This illuminates the myriad of neurologic manifestations of TMD. We are presently successfully treating multiple patients for Tourettes and Menieres disease which are TMD in origin.\
If you or someone you love, have questions about cervical dystonia or TMD treatment please call our office for a free consultation.

Sincerely,
Dr. Dagostino
