Dental implants

“Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.” Winston Churchill

Having surgically placed dental implants for over 30 years, I have seen the incredible evolution of the surgical treatment modalities and the varied uses of dental implants. During the inception of implantology the treatment was aimed at securing or fixating loose lower dentures. The philosophy of replacing single teeth did not occur until the mid1990’s, where it became obvious that dental implants would survive in the maxilla (upper jaw). The treatment modalities were initially based on just get it to integrate, to today where we as clinicians are looking for the functionality and aesthetic end product of maxillary implants. These amazing titanium screws can now literally be placed anywhere on any age patient with assurance of success.

I was recently in Louisville, Kentucky attending a continuing Ed seminar learning about new innovative surgical techniques. These techniques allow clinicians to augment (build bone) with great success and minimal invasiveness. Should you or someone you love have questions about dental implants please contact our office for a complimentary evaluation.

Sincerely,
Michael W. Dagostino DDS
