What are your Crowns made from?

Dear Patients,

The holidays are upon us with all the hustle and festivities. My staff and I wish you a wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving!

Having practiced for over 25 years I have witnessed a tremendous change in the dental materials we commonly use. Gone are the days of the silver filling and non precious metal crowns. We are cognizant of the fact that 15% of the population has an allergy to nickel, a metal commonly found in dental crowns. Due to this fact our office utilizes only precious metals (i.e. gold and palladium) in the fabrication of our porcelain to metal crowns. In the patients who desire metal free restorations our office provides all ceramic crowns which are so life like it is difficult to distinguish them from natural dentition. Should you or someone you love have any questions about the materials we use please contact our office for a free consultation.

Towards the end of the year our office is flooded with calls from patients wanting to maximize their utilization of their insurance benefits. Please try to schedule far enough ahead that you’ll be able to get your preferred time slot and avoid being placed on a waiting list when all the 2009 appointments fill up. Remember to use your benefits and again, Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

Michael W. Dagostino, DDS
