Acid Erosion and Teeth Loss

Acid Erosion and Teeth Loss

Newsletter for July, 2012

Dear Patients,

"One must maintain a little bit of summer, even in the middle of winter." - Henry David Thoreau

Perhaps a few of you have seen the T.V. commercial in which I endorse Pronamel. There are many reasons for the endorsement, the most prominent of these is GSK's dedication towards educating patients about acid erosion. Over the 28 years of practicing I have witnessed an incredible shift in the average patient's diet. Much of our diets are high in acidity, or have a low pH. These acidic foods and beverages particularly soda pops or fruit juices and wines can cause the breakdown of your dental enamel. This acidic erosion damages your teeth and can slowly change the shape, texture, and appearance of your teeth. Pronamel is especially formulated to re-harden the acid softened enamel, it also contains a special ingredient that helps relieve tooth sensitivity.

Should you or someone you love have teeth effected by acid erosion, please call our office for a complimentary consultation.

Sincerely,

Michael W. Dagostino, DDS
